Ex on the Beach star opens mum's salon in Cannock
Ex on the Beach star Loren Green was more than happy to attend the opening of a new hair salon in Cannock - because it is run by her mother.
The 23-year-old, who recently featured on the second series of the MTV show, will also be working at Fabulous Extensions & Beauty twice a week.
The salon, on Hamelin Street, officially opened at the weekend, where prospective customers were welcomed through the doors to see what is on offer.
Loren's mum Emma Collins said: "Our first week has gone well but even though this was a salon before we are starting from scratch.
"It's a competitive market but now people seem to find money for their nails and their hair whereas perhaps 10 to 15 years ago if they were saving money they wouldn't think its essential."
Emma has hired three beauticians at the salon as well as her daughter Loren.
The mum-of-three, 44, from Teddesley Road in Penkridge, has been in the beauty industry since the age of 13 when she helped out at Roger Porter in Cannock.
She then went on to hone her skills at college in the town. For the past nine years Emma has done beauty work in Spain.
She added: "I am originally from Cannock and this was a business opportunity which just came up so I just thought let's do it.
"I have a lot of experience in the industry, I started when I was 13, which is a long time. I just want people to know we are open here now which will hopefully catch on by word of mouth."
And what did she think of her daughter's television appearance on Ex on the Beech? - A show which jets singles off on a sun-soaked holiday only to reunite them with a former flame.
"I trusted her totally to keep her dignity and I knew she wouldn't let herself down.
"These types of shows can sometimes be big platforms to promote yourself and its how you work at it afterwards.
"I think you just have to be real and not act above your station. Loren is working towards opening her own boutique so I think we can both benefit from the show."
