Councillor Zahid Shah, who represents St Peter's ward, unleashed his rap on Youtube in a bid to attract young voters.

His call-to-vote is based around the Whitmore Reans area that he grew up in, which he says has become 'deranged'.

Councillor Shah's 55-second long rap has now garnered 2,597 views and has been liked by 32 viewers, with 12 'haters' giving it the thumbs down.

He said: "I wanted to open up debate and get people involved in the election who might usually just let it pass them by.

"It's a bit of fun but there's a serious message behind it as well. The feedback I've had has been really positive."
