Girl, 4, knocked unconscious after climbing frame fall

A young girl was knocked unconscious after falling six feet from a climbing frame at a pub in Wordsley.

The girl, thought to be four years old, was hurt while playing at the Glassworks Pub on the A491 Camp Hill at 6.15pm yesterday.

She regained consciousness at the scene but was taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital as a precaution.

An air ambulance was flown to the scene but the girl was eventually taken to hospital by land ambulance.

West Midlands Ambulance spokesman Murray McGregor said: "The girl was playing on the climbing frame when she slipped and fell in a very unfortunate accident.

"She was initially unconscious but came round. After being assessed by ambulance staff and the doctor, she was taken by land ambulance to Birmingham Children's Hospital as a precaution, where she was due to undergo further tests to be on the safe side."
