Stephen Sutton's mother is carrying on his legacy by running the London Marathon.
Jane Sutton is running in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Within 24 hours of announcing she would be taking part in the run Jane Sutton raised an impressive £7,000.
Mrs Sutton will take on the 26 mile challenge on April 26 and said she was 'overwhelmed' by people's generosity.
Stephen, from Burntwood, died on May 14 last year, aged just 19, after a four year battle with bowel cancer.
Donations
Donations flooded in for Teenager Cancer Trust after Mrs Sutton set up her fundraising page.
She said: "I've been totally overwhelmed by the fabulous response I've had to my blog announcing I'm participating in this year's Virgin London Marathon.
"You started sponsoring me and sending messages of support from the minute the post went out."
On her fundraising page Jane said: "I have been inspired to participate in this year's Virgin London Marathon by my son.
"Stephen was a keen runner himself. Despite being diagnosed with cancer he continued to run and was determined to run a marathon himself. However, as you all know this was not to be as the cancer became more aggressive and was then diagnosed as incurable in January 2013."
After being diagnosed, the former Chase Terrace Technology College pupil originally hoped to raise £10,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust. However his fundraising efforts went viral and celebrities helped him to raise over £3 million. That figure rose to over £5 million after his death.
