Paramedics say the woman driver escaped more serious injury as she had been wearing a seatbelt at the time.

Emergency services were called to Greatfield Road shortly before 7.10am today.

Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service attended to treat the woman aged in her 60s.

Spokesman Chris Kowalik said the woman managed to get herself out of the car but had suffered a chest injury.

She was given pain relief at the scene and was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

He added: "Crews at the scene said she was fortunate not to have been more seriously injured and that it was because she was wearing a seatbelt."
