Motorhome in Stourport destroyed in blaze
A motorhome in Stourbridge was completely gutted today after it went up in flames.
Fire crews were called to the blaze at around 11am this morning to the fire at Lickhill Manor Caravan Park in Stourport.
The fire is believed to have been started whilst the man was cooking - but he was out of the motorhome before the fire really took hold.
Two crews from Kidderminster and Stourport fought the blaze but the motorhome was destroyed.
Crew Commander Paul Bailey, from Kidderminster fire station, said the operation was risky due to a gas canister inside the motorhome.
"There was a gas canister inside which meant we had to stay at a distance of around 50 feet to keep our firefighters safe," he said. "We fought the fire defensively using local water supplies but unfortunately the motorhome could not be saved."
Commander Bailey said the man was already out of the motorhome when they arrived and was not hurt.
"Although caravan sites are numerous around Stourport, thankfully fires in them are not," Commander Bailey said.
