Hunt continues for armed masked raiders in cash and jewellery aggravated burglary

The hunt is continuing for masked raiders who stole cash and jewellery from a flat above a bar and restaurant on the Staffordshire and Walsall border.

The gang were believed to have carrying a firearm when they broke into the The Masons Bar and Restaurant, in Stafford Road, Newtown, on February 2 and demanded valuables from the two occupants.

Armed police were called to the site near Bloxwich after the raid which happened late at night after the pub had closed.

A small amount of cash and personal jewellery were stolen from, a man aged 31 and a woman aged 32, in an incident what police described as an 'aggravated burglary'.

Staffordshire Police said no arrests had yet been made and its investigation 'is ongoing'.
