Crews battle Wolverhampton blaze sparked by bonfire
Firefighters tackled a large garden blaze in Wolverhampton.
Crews battled for two hours in Dalton Street, Graiseley, on Monday.
The blaze was sparked by a smouldering bonfire left overnight which spread to neighbouring fences and two sheds at around 5am. A passer-by alerted the fire service and two crews from Merridale Street fire station were dispatched.
Crew Commander Alan Partridge said: "This illustrated the dangers of leaving bonfires unattended. The sheds were badly damaged"
Meanwhile, fire crews from Bilston and Dudley were called to a house fire in Meadow Lane, Lanesfield, sparked by a faulty extractor fan.
The alarm was raised at round 9.10pm on Monday after the power went off in the semi-detached house where a woman was alone at the time. She was unhurt. No one was injured.
