The blaze ripped through the 600 sq m barn in Stretton Road, Lapley, at around midday on Saturday.

Crews from Penkridge, Cannock and Gnosall took more than two hours to extinguish the fire and secure the scene.

No one was injured in the blaze, which is thought to have been started accidentally.

Watch commander Nick Fife, from Penkridge Fire Station, said: "The whole barn was gutted. We had four pumps and a water carrier on the scene and managed to make the area safe.

"Thankfully no one was hurt."
