Dudley Town Halll repairs on track to finish by end of month

Repair work at Dudley Town Hall is on track to finish by the end of the month.

Loose plaster on the ceiling forced the venue to close in December.

Concerts and performances needed to be re-arranged or moved to alternative venues.

While Wednesday evening dances, run by Fiona Bennett, held in the main hall have been moved to Dudley College.

Officials today said work was progressing well and due to be completed on schedule.

A school's festive choral concert involving 175 performers was one was the first events to be called off.

Jesson's CE Primary School was due to stage Now That's What I Call Christmas at the venue in December.

Organisers were forced to cancel because they couldn't find another venue big enough at short notice.

But shows by performers such as Ken Dodd and Duggie Brown have been re-arranged for later in the year.
