Teenager arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after Dudley doorstep stabbing

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed on his doorstep in Dudley earlier this week.

The 17-year-old boy was arrested at an address in Netherton following police inquiries and remains in police custody.

The 65-year-old householder was attacked just before 6.15pm in Owen Street, Kates Hill, on Tuesday, February 24, suffering serious stab wounds to his head, shoulder, chest and back.

Detective Inspector Greg Evans said: "Thankfully, the man is now in a stable condition and is recovering well in hospital.

"We are still working to establish a motive for the attack and we are currently questioning a teenage boy, who was arrested yesterday afternoon.

"I would urge anyone who has any information about the attack – and who we have not yet spoken to – to call us on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
