Man charged with manslaughter and arson over Kidderminster flat fire

A man has been charged with manslaughter and arson in connection with a Kidderminster flat fire.

Sandra Nowocinska, 22, died four days after being rescued from the fire at her flat in Horsefair.

Her five-year-old son was also injured in the fire, but has now recovered.

A 42-year-old man who was arrested shortly after the blaze on November 27, 2014, was yesterday charged with manslaughter and arson being reckless as to whether life of another would be endangered.

Mark Moat was also charged with arson and threatening to cause criminal damage in relation to two separate incidents.

Moat appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court this afternoon, and will next appear at Worcester Crown Court on June 1.
