The Wolverhampton-based charity is opening a shop in Garrick Street in the city centre next month.

It has 24 shops dotted around the Black Country but this will be the first to encompass everything under one roof.

It will feature different departments include clothing, a media centre, furniture, a bridal department and home and electrical goods.

The store will be based underneath Faces nightclub and will also have a kids corner.

Bosses said increased demand for services has led to the shop being built as part of a new five-year strategy.

Ed Blackwell, manager of the new superstore, said: "This is a really exciting time for Compton Hospice.

"The Garrick Street superstore is like no other shop we have opened before – it will have absolutely everything under one roof including clothing, furniture, homeware, electrical items, brick-a-brack, books and new goods.

"It promises shoppers the opportunity to get their hands on some really unique items for bargain prices.

"What's more, all the money that is raised through the sale of these goods will go towards funding the care that the hospice delivers to patients with incurable illnesses across Wolverhampton and further afield."

The mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Mike Heap, will cut the ribbon to open the superstore on March 12.

It will be staffed by a team of 10 volunteers.

Compton Hospice has two other shops in the city centre, in School Street and Skinner Street.
