KKK racist from Wolverhampton admits new social media outbursts

A man from Wolverhampton, convicted of stirring up racial hatred, has pleaded guilty to flouting a court order by posting new abuse on social media.

Darren Fletcher, 25, made comments on social media that flouted the terms of his 12-month-old order for stirring up racial hatred after posting a video of himself on YouTube, dressed in a Ku Klux Klan costume and carrying out a mock hanging of a life-sized golliwog doll.

Today Wolverhampton magistrates heard how Fletcher took the opportunity to vent his frustration at his earlier conviction on a Facebook page, attracting posts from extreme right wing sympathisers.

He used racist and inflammatory wording and suggested the Express & Star 'needs bombing'.

Fletcher, who has previously gone by other names, was arrested for the most recent offence on November 13 last year.

He was charged last month.

Fletcher, of Kitchen Lane, Wednesfield, appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today. He was bailed until March 11 for sentencing at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Det Sgt Paul Beattie, from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit, said: "Fletcher used anti-semitic and racist comments on a Facebook page which we managed to capture and use in evidence; he had blatantly flouted the conditions of his order.

"We understand how offensive and distressing this type of material can be and we have worked with the Crown Prosecution Service to again bring Fletcher before the courts.

"We urge anyone with concerns about extremist behaviour of any kind to contact police on 101."
