Tributes paid to inspiring Walsall tutor after sudden death
Students, colleagues and loved ones have paid tribute to a beloved tutor after he died suddenly.
Lyndon Bayliss, aged 43, from Bloxwich, taught radio production at Walsall College for 16 years.
He suffered complications after a heart attack and died on January 26, leaving behind wife, Leanne and two daughters.
Mrs Bayliss, aged 42, said her husband's sudden death had left the family devastated.
"He was always so fit and healthy," she said. "He was such a hands-on dad and a dedicated teacher. He was the type of person to sit with you and go over things over and over, without being patronising, until you got it."
Mr and Mrs Bayliss married in 1997 and had two daughters together, 15-year-old Olivia and 12-year-old Melissa.
The family had recently moved from their home in Heath Hayes to Paignton in Devon, although Mr Bayliss stayed on at Walsall College to teach, working Monday to Thursday.
"We moved because we had always wanted to live by the sea, and we figured you have to seize the day," Mrs Bayliss said. "That is even clearer now."
Mr Bayliss became a welder after leaving school but took a photography course at Walsall College, which led to him taking up the role of teaching radio production after he graduated.

Head of the media department at the college and friend, David Turner said: "What I know Lyndon would be most proud of now he is no longer here, as well as his own wife and kids and family of course, is the wonderful family of students he has nurtured over the decades.
"The words, comments and memories I have read from students and work colleagues just keep on making me cry."
Tributes to Mr Bayliss were posted on social media by devastated former students who all praised him for inspiring and supporting them over the years.
Amy Wells said: "I worked with Lyndon for three years during study and had found him to be a family man that would always go the extra mile for you if it helped with your study.
"Lyndon inspired and helped many people to be the best that they can me, my heart goes out to his family."
Angela Rumble said: "I first met Lyndon when I was a shy introvert. It was Lyndon's understanding, kind manner and yet firm determination that gave me encouragement and hope. He was funny, sometimes firm but always an amazing tutor."
Mr Bayliss' funeral will take place tomorrow at All Saints Church in Bloxwich.
