Walsall footballer accused of breaking opposition player's jaw denies charge

A footballer accused of hitting an opposition player, leaving him with a broken jaw, during a match has denied the allegation.

Walsall Wood FC player Max Black pleaded not guilty to one count of assault causing actual bodily harm at Walsall Magistrates Court yesterday.

The 21-year-old, of Inglewood Grove, Streetly, allegedly assaulted

Stourport Swifts player Karl Fellowes during a match on New Year's Day.

The case has been adjourned until June 11 for a trial. Black was granted unconditional bail.
