Chaos on the railways due to fault between Wolverhampton and Stafford
Chaos is expected on the railways today with an overhead line between Wolverhampton and Stafford out of use.
Buses are being put on between Wolverhampton, Penkridge and Stafford.
London Midland said it was running no direct services between Birmingham New Street and Liverpool Lime Street for the rest of the day.
Anyone travelling between Birmingham and Wolverhampton needs to catch London Midland local services, the firm said.
The London Euston to Crewe service is unable to call at Rugeley Trent Valley, with passengers travelling north asked to go to Stafford before getting a train back to Rugeley.
London Midland tickets will be accepted on Virgin and Cross Country trains and passengers are advised to check the online before travelling.
The overhead wire fault has now been fixed, but delays of around 20 minutes remain.
The overhead line problems are related to a fatality in Penkridge last night.
A woman died after being hit by a train at around 8.30pm.
