Advanced learning at £9m Dudley College campus - SEE inside
Modern architecture and futuristic design - these new images showcase the Dudley College centre aiming to train the workforce of tomorrow.
Dudley College's new £9 million manufacturing and engineering centre is open for business with staff hoping leading Black Country companies will visit.
The campus, called Dudley Advance, is home to more than 500 students as they learn about the engineering technology industry to help bridge the skills shortage.
Huge windows allow light to fall across the silver panels surrounding the building, off Priory Road, in Dudley's new £30 million Learning Quarter.
The specialist centre has teaching space spread over four floors inside the cavernous building for students to learn skills in a variety of areas.
There are facilities for the study of engineering and advanced manufacturing including mechatronics, electrical engineering and engineering science, as well as traditional machine tool based engineering.
And this entrance will greet employers being sought to come on board with a new project aimed at helping students get first hand knowledge for their future careers.
Dudley Advance is launching its services for businesses at an employer breakfast on January 30.
This first event will give employers the opportunity to tour the new building and view the £1m investment in equipment and machinery the college has made.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore how their business can enhance students training by working in partnership with the Dudley Advance team.
The event is free to attend and employers can drop in any time between 8am and 10am. Call 01384 363 860 or email helen.boden@dudleycol.ac.uk for details.
Dudley Advance director, Neil Thomas, said: "I'd encourage anyone involved in engineering and manufacturing to join us at our first event so they can understand the significance Dudley Advance has in relation to training current and future employees in traditional and new engineering skills.
"We are also eager to attract businesses to the event that can play a part in the development of engineering skills by joining forces with the college to provide hands-on experience through Apprenticeships, guest speakers, site visits, mentors or real work projects for our students."
