More Wolverhampton delays as tram tracks laid
More roadworks misery is on the way to Wolverhampton as part of an over-running £4.5m tram network project.
Part of Bilston Road will be dug up next Monday as tram tracks are relaid. Wolverhampton City Council said motorists could expect delays between 9.30am and 3.30pm with lane closures in place.
The project was originally due to be completed last November. But a host of delays have caused problems for motorists and commuters, with lanes and roads closed.
Next Monday's work takes place between Bilston Road Island and Sharrock Street. Bosses at Centro, which is undertaking the work, estimate it will not finish until March at the earliest.
The main St George's stop in Wolverhampton city centre has been closed since last September. The primary delay came from the discovery of an underground abandoned mine shaft.
