Donovan Wilson, aged 19, and Aston Davis, aged 21, can be seen barging past the frightened householder, who is holding a dog, Bilston Road, Tipton.

They ripped the neckchain from the householder, before targeting a house two miles away in Castle Road.

There, they crept in through a downstairs window and armed themselves with a kitchen knife.

The three women in the house tried to flee and an elderly woman with dementia was injured in the ensuing scuffle, knocking her head on the side of the stairs and leaving her with a fractured jaw.

The women were then threatened with the knife into keeping quiet, with Davis refusing to let the two younger women care for their injured family member.

"Their lengthy sentences should reassure their victims and the wider public that justice has been served, helping them feel safer in their homes.

The pair stole a laptop and a phone from the house, before getting away in the family's Volkswagen Golf. It was later found abandoned in Smethwick after crashing into another vehicle.

The two robberies were linked and police identified Wilson and Davies from CCTV from the Bilston Road robbery, shown above.

Davis was caught by eagle-eyed patrol officers in Wolverhampton and Wilson at an address in Derby.

Wilson, 19, of Coventry Court, Stafford and Davis, aged 21, of no fixed abode, both pleaded guilty at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Wednesday to two robberies on August 7.

Wilson also admitted two additional offences: a street robbery in Wolverhampton in 2013 where a man was hit repeatedly with a brick to steal the man's two gold chains from his neck and taking a vehicle from the Tipton robbery which was later involved in a collision.

They were both charged over the Tipton offences.

Last week, Wilson was given a 14-and-a-half-year sentence and Davies was handed 10 years.
