Axe-wielding thieves raid Staffordshire off-licence

Axe-wielding thieves broke into an off licence and smashed their way into a cigarette cabinet.

Three men broke into Bargain Booze in Chase Road, Burntwood though a rear door.

Once inside they used a long-handled axe to get into the cigarette cabinet. They made off with £7,000 of cigarettes, money from the till and a bottle of vodka.

They are described as white and were wearing dark-coloured clothing with their faces covered. They also wore gloves. The break-in happened on January 7 at around 11.05pm.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 101.
