Footballer charged after opposition player's jaw broken in match

A footballer has been charged with assault after an opposition player was left with a broken jaw during a match.

Walsall Wood player Max Black, aged 21, of Inglewood Grove, Streetly, will appear at Walsall Magistrates Court on January 28.

Karl Fellows had to receive surgery after being hurt while playing for Stourport Swifts on New Year's Day.

The Worcestershire FA have confirmed Mr Fellows has been hit with a six-match suspension after the match official reported him for spitting.

Mr Fellows is also a coach at Aston Villa.
