Repair works are being done to structures on the link road between the southbound M6 at junction eight near Great Barr and the M5 link with West Bromwich.
Works will include concrete repairs and associated drainage works which will be under way tonight.
The £6 million project also includes work at Spaghetti Junction, Ray Hall Viaduct, the River Tame Bridge and Wigmore Viaduct. It is due to be completed at the end of May.
While the work is ongoing, the road will be reduced to a single lane and at M6 junction nine for Wednesbury, the southbound entry slip road will be closed.
