Gordon Whitehouse, of Tettenhall Road, Wolverhampton, pleaded guilty to causing obstruction to a carriage at Solihull train station on September 14 2014 at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court.

He also admitted to stealing from a shop, assaulting a constable and being drunk and disorderly in a public place, as well as failing to surrender to bail conditions, with all the offences taking place between September and October last year.

The court heard from defence solicitor Frank Calleia that Whitehouse is an alcoholic who is in the process of recovery after liasing with family members.

His sentencing was adjourned until January 23 after it was decided the court would check on his rehabilitation progress again before sentencing.
