Molineux set to rock with big new gigs
A big Molineux gig – similar to Bon Jovi's famous show of 2003 – could be in the pipeline while Wolverhampton Civic Hall is being redeveloped.
Bosses have revealed work on the £10million revamp will start immediately after the hugely popular Grand Slam of Darts in November 2015.
And an 'exciting' programme of gigs is to be announced in the coming weeks, with chiefs working on trying to attract a big name for a one-off show.
Wolverhampton Racecourse is also being looked at to stage gigs when the Civic Hall is being refurbished. Work will take 15 months and will see the Civic and Wulfrun closed at the same time for around three months at the beginning of 2017.
Most gigs will be planned to take place at whichever of the two venues is open.
Wolverhampton City Council's regeneration chief, Councillor Elias Mattu, said the big-money redevelopment was an exciting time for the city.
"Molineux is the place where we could have the biggest gig possible in Wolverhampton," he said. "

Wolves chairman Steve Morgan is committed to Wolverhampton and he's all for the promotion of the city."
As part of a long-term plan for venues across the city smaller events could be held at Bilston Craft Gallery, City Archives and Bantock House, while the Civic's box office would be moved to the art gallery, with the full plans yet to be finalised.
Councillor Mattu added: "While the refurbishment is taking place most of the gigs will transfer between the two venues.
"But most importantly the darts will stay in the Civic in 2015 and 2016 – if the Civic isn't finished for 2016 it will still be held there."
