The family-of-six were alerted to the fire by smoke alarms and left the property and called the fire service.

Two crews from Brierley Hill and Stourbridge attended the blaze - and used breathing apparatus inside the property to extinguish the fire.

Watch Commander Roy Whitehead said: "The bedroom was mostly smoke and heat damaged and the first floor smoked logged.

"We believe electrical transformers overheated after being covered with a quilt by accident.

"The damage by fire is not as bad as it could have been but the smoke and heat damage is extensive."

Nobody was hurt in the fire.
