Man taken to hospital after Wolverhampton bridge fall

Emergency services were called after a man fell from a bridge over a railway line.

West Midlands Ambulance was called to Bushbury Lane, Wolverhampton, about 12:30pm today where a man in his 20s had broken his hip and right arm in the fall.

The man is thought to have fallen approximately five meters on to railway sidings.

A paramedic area support officer in a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance crew and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended.

The man's injuries were treated by crews at the scene and, accompanied by the air ambulance crew, he was taken by land ambulance to New Cross Hospital.
