Rebecca Young, aged 26, appeared at Cannock Magistrates Court on Christmas Eve accused of preying on elderly residents in Burntwood.
The charge follows reports of a woman calling at several houses asking for donations or sponsorship. She managed to talk her way into the properties and distracted the owners by asking for a drink.
Police say while their attention was elsewhere, the offender took cash, bank cards, wallets, purses and cheque books.
Young, of Jervis Court, Chase Terrace, faces five charges of burglary and two of fraud by false representation.
