The crowds gathered to see more than 60 riders take part in the hunt in the 350-acre grounds of Hagley Park, near Stourbridge, on Friday.

Hunt secretary Julian Hill said: "It was a fantastic turnout. We usually hunt two to three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, but the Boxing Day hunt is of course very special and it is always successful."

The hunt at Hagley took place at exactly the same time as the hunt in Newport, which is also organised by the Albrighton and Woodland Hunt.

Despite a ban on fox hunting ten years ago due to its controversial nature, hunts continue using 'trails', where hounds follow the scent of foxes without any foxes being harmed.
