Probe launched after reports of thieves distracting cash machine users

An investigation has been launched after reports of a group of men trying to distract cash machine users to steal their cards and pin numbers.

Three cases have been reported in Kidderminster, Oswestry and Bridgnorth, police said.

People are being warned to be on their guard when using cash machines.

Police say they are searching for a for a group of two or three men.

A victim in the Bridgnorth incident, which took place at midday on Friday has described one of the men as being a white male, aged between 20-40, of slim build, with an eastern European accent, wearing a long sleeved dark top with a hood on it.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
