Black Country's biggest lottery winner to attend court in dispute over 3ft strip of land
A boundary dispute involving the Black Country's biggest ever lottery winner is set to go to court next month.
Former lorry driver Tom Naylor, who grew up in Wednesbury, won £15.5 million on the national lottery in 2001. But in recent years he has become embroiled in a bitter row over a 3ft strip of land.
The row centres on land skirting his barn conversion near Wheaton Aston in Staffordshire.
Mr Naylor claims Zillar Rahman, who owns the Café India restaurant to the south of his property, demolished his boundary fence and tampered with a manhole cover sealing a foul drainage system.
He alleges the damage caused raw sewage to flood into his paddock and down his driveway.
Mr Rahman has refuted the claims. A county court claim form states Mr Naylor is expecting to recover 'more than £5,000 but not more than £15,000'.
But after efforts at mediation failed a court date has been set for a preliminary hearing.
The case will be heard at Wolverhampton County Court on December 16.
