Man hit in the face during attempted Hednesford robbery

A man was hit in the face  after refusing to hand over his phone and money in an attempted robbery.

The victim was walking in Greenwood Park, Hednesford, when a Ford Focus containing four or five occupants pulled up alongside him.

The male offender got out from the passenger side and shouted at the man to give him money and his phone. When the victim refused the offender hit him in the face.

The 30-year-old victim, from Cannock, left the scene, and required medical treatment for minor facial injuries.

The incident occurred at approximately 6.45pm on Tuesday, November 18.

The offender is described as white, in his early 20s, 5ft 9in tall, and of stocky build. He had ginger hair, short at the sides and longer on top, and was wearing a dark coloured Adidas tracksuit with stripes on the sleeves. He spoke in a deep voice, with a local accent.
