Members of Essington Parish Council will meet with MP Gavin Williamson tonight.

Two are proposed for Middlehill in Shareshill, another in Ball Lane, Coven Heath as well as a site at Glenside, Dark Lane, Slade Heath.

Essington Parish Council chairman David Clifft, said: "The meeting will give councillors the opportunity to quiz our MP over this government policy and the high level of sites proposed for Essington.

"We have also written to over 2,200 household in Essington making them aware of the consultation."

Mr Williamson has previously called South Staffordshire Council's figures 'flawed', citing the fact that there are people living at only nine pitches who are willing to move top other sites.

This, he said, means those that are staying put should be treated like anyone else in the settled community.

A six-week public consultation runs until November 24 with the plans available to view at Essington Community Centre in Hobnock Road.
