Members of Halesowen Abbey Trust raised £20,000 to purchase the Grade I-listed garden at The Leasowes Park.
The garden had been in the ownership of Birmingham Metropolitan College.
This week the trust members were given a tour inside the garden, but were shocked to find vandalism inside.
Trust leader Mick Freer said the water supply had been cut off, electric cables ripped out and rubbish scattered throughout the area.
