Molineux and Racecourse concerts planned for Wolverhampton
Molineux and Wolverhampton Racecourse are being looked at to stage gigs while the Civic Hall is being refurbished.
Smaller events could be held at Bilston Craft Gallery, City Archives and Bantock House, while the Civic's box office would be moved to the art gallery.
But redundancies during the £10m redevelopment, which will see the Civic and Wulfrun closed at the same time for three months at the beginning of 2017, have not been ruled out.
The council is now working out logistics and timings as bosses are desperate to avoid work happening in November when the money-spinning Grand Slam of Darts hits the Civic.
A new council report says: "For larger events where seating capacity or floor space is a critical issue, alternative options include Molineux and Wolverhampton Racecourse.
"These will need to be negotiated on a case-by-case basis, as promoters choose specific venues."
It is anticipated the majority of the Civic's events will move to the smaller Wulfrun as the latter only needs to be shut for five months in total.
"In addition there is time to look at alternative development opportunities for staff during this period, eg temporary secondments, sabbaticals etc."
