Tram tickets now sold at rail stations
Tickets for the Midland Metro can now be bought from ticket vending machines at London Midland rail stations where the Metro operates.
The Hawthorns and Jewellery Quarter stations both serve tram and rail passengers, but until now Metro tickets could only be bought on-board the trams.
But the change was brought in after reports of a passengers having bought train tickets from a vending machine in error.
London Midland retail systems manager, Andy Berry, said: "It was the first time I had heard of a case where someone had used our vending machines thinking they could buy a Metro ticket.
"It wasn't straight forward as we have never sold Metro tickets on this type of London Midland vending machine before."
Mr Berry contacted suppliers and machines were overhauled to sell Metro tickets.
London Midland managing director, Patrick Verwer said: "We take customer feedback seriously and I'm delighted that we've been able to improve the services we offer."
