Crematorium operators the Westerleigh Group applied for planning permission to build a new crematorium off Broad Lane in Essington.
They held an initial public consultation and exhibition of their plans to the public on Monday 28 July, which they say revealed significant support and a positive response from most people in the district.
Independent funeral directors have written in to express their support for the new facility.
Marie Perry, Funeral Manager at funeral directors Andrew Walsh said: "I was very impressed with the plans and feel that the building should discreetly sit within the landscape and allow a tranquil setting as this is so important for a Funeral."
The company hope to reassure any residents nearby who may still have concerns.
Richard Evans, Managing Director of the Westerleigh Group said: "Overall we are very pleased with the public vote of confidence that has been given to our plans.
"This new facility will relieve the pressure on neighbouring crematoria and will offer a quieter, more convenient choice.
"We know that some from residents of the Mossley estate have concerns and have held a special meeting with them to explain further how little their daily lives will be affected by the presence of the facility."
