The robbers burst into Aldi, in Saltwells Road, and threatened staff with the weapons before leaving with a quantity of cash in a waiting car and heading toward Cradley Heath.

One employee, a 22-year-old woman, suffered a cut to her hand during the raid and was treated by paramedics.

Detective Sergeant Greg Evans said: "Our officers have been at the supermarket this morning carrying out forensic examinations of the scene and looking at CCTV.

"The only description we have of the men is that they were wearing face coverings and spoke with local accents.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen the men either before or after the robbery."

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
