The Toll was closed between junctions T6 for Brownhills and T8 for Wedges Mills after the smash at about 10am. It was reopened by 2.30pm.
Police began tracking the MG ZR when it was seen being driven erratically on the M6 through Staffordshire.

Officers tried to stop the car and a rolling road block was put in place along the motorway.
The car, which travelled at speeds of up to 90mph, was driven on to the M6 Toll – which officers then closed from T8 to T6.
But as police attempted to stop the car for a second time it collided with the marked police BMW, causing both vehicles to crash into the central reservation and come to rest on the embankment.

Two police officers inside the patrol car have been taken to hospital, however their injuries are not currently believed to be serious.
The driver of the MG, a 23-year-old man, has also been taken to hospital with reported leg injuries. He was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving while under the influence of drink or drugs.
The M6 Toll was closed in both directions following the collision.
Traffic has built up along the M6 around Junctions 12 and 13 for Stafford as well as around Orbital Way in Cannock.
