Images of hooded bank robber released
Images of a bank robbery in South Staffordshire have been released by police.
The man, who was not armed, entered the branch in Lane Green Road at 9.40am, ordering staff to fill a carrier bag with cash. He then fled with the money, the full amount of which has not yet been disclosed by officers. CCTV images of the man have now been issued by Staffordshire Police in a bid to try and track him down.
They show him with his face covered, wearing a black Adidas tracksuit with a blue cap and a hood over it. The man had shaven blonde hair and spoke with a deep voice, with witnesses describing him as heavily-built and 6ft tall. Staffordshire Police spokeswoman Jane Hoult said: "Following our appeal in relation to a robbery at Barclays Bank in Codsall on Wednesday July 30 we have now released CCTV images of the suspect."
Dave Jones, manager of the Motor World store next door to Barclays, said:
"There were lots of police cars and the helicopter was above."
There were four members of staff in the bank at the time of the raid but no customers and no one was injured.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Marc Bailey on 101 quoting incident 147 of July 30.
