This site off Burntwood Road in Norton Canes, Staffordshire is for bungalows, two storey detached and semi-detached houses.

Planning agent Christopher Timothy, on behalf of the applicant, said: "This site has been allocated for housing since 1984, long before my involvement in planning. It has been a long time coming."

Residents from the village also welcomed the projects for extra housing.

Burntwood Road householder David Bagley said: "We need the new homes for families in the area. I welcome the plans as long as there are no issues with the drainage."

Cannock Chase planning meeting was told that Severn Trent Water was responsible for any issues regarding a nearby stream that flooded neighbouring streets in 1966 and in 2001.

Designs for a further 14 new properties to be built, in Norton East Road, and 130 homes on land off Red Lion Lane have also been given the green light.
