The successful show which featured an array of bands and singers was the third to be organised by village group Musicians for Life. And this year it was organised in partnership with Walsall Council's park rangers.

Fans were treated to two live stages featuring local bands on Saturday and all proceeds will go to St Giles Hospice and The Teenage Cancer Trust.

Acts included Fabled Finks, the Lock In, Stevie and the Bandellos, Pete Kelly and Emma Langford, False Alarm, Ben & Carter, Ben Farmer, and Aldridge Ukulele Group.

Organiser Becky Menear, 42, said so far hundreds of pounds had been raised from stalls and collections held in the grounds off Norton Road, Pelsall, and the total will be split between the two good causes.

She said: "It was an amazing day. We had about 2,000 people turn up throughout the afternoon. They brought picnics and blankets. Everybody had a fantastic time, it was brilliant to see everyone come and have a good time."

"We would like to thank all the acts who gave up their time to be here, the councillors and park staff for their help to make it happen," she added.
