Three taken to hospital after car overturns in Cannock

Three people have been taken to hospital after a car overturned in Cannock.

Ambulance crews were called to the scene in a field near the Cannock Chase visitors Centre, off Marquis Drive in Brindley Heath shortly after 11.35pm yesterday evening.

A woman and two men, all thought to be in their early 20s, were treated on scene before being taken to hospital.

Communications officer for West Midlands Ambulance Service, Suzie Wheaton, said: "On arrival at the scene, crews found a car that had overturned and was upside-down in a field.

"Emergency services worked closely together to ensure that all the occupants from the vehicle were released safely.

"The three occupants, all believed to be in their early 20's, were assessed by ambulance crews at the scene.

"One man was treated for shoulder and abdominal pain before being conveyed to New Cross Hospital.

"A second man was treated for a head injury and back and neck pain before he was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital.

"A woman was also treated for a head injury, as well as back and neck pain before being taken to the major trauma centre at University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

"All three casualties were immobilised and given pain relief at the scene prior to them being transferred to each hospital."
