Bistro 95, in Cannock, has closed and a message posted on its Facebook page said directors had been reluctantly forced to shut.

An administrator has been appointed and the company will be dissolved, according to the post.

The restaurant, in High Green, has been trading for two years and dozens of previous customers have voiced their disappointment on the social networking site.

A message, which was posted by Bistro 95 on its Facebook page on Friday, said: "Unfortunately due to poor trading the directors were reluctantly forced to vacate the premises.

"After meeting with our accountants on Tuesday an administrator was appointed and the company will be dissolved.

"Our other businesses are unaffected by this move. We would like to thank all previous customers for their support and custom throughout the past two years."

Previous customers praised the 'excellent service and food' which the traditional English eatery had offered and many said it was a shame that it had closed.

Catherine Hiley wrote on the restaurant's Facebook page: "Real shame, enjoyed some lovely lunches there in recent months."

Carol Owen said: "So sorry to hear this, it was the nicest place to eat in Cannock by far!"

Gayle Mountford Roe also said she was 'gutted'.

She posted: "Had some lovely evenings with you, such a shame to lose a lovely local restaurant.

"Now I know why you cancelled our table on Tuesday evening."

Louise Jones added: "This is a real shame, since first eating there a couple of months back I have visited most weekends, great food and ambience.... Where will I go to have my gorgeous gammon and pineapple fritters."
