Chantelle Moran-Stokes, aged 24, of Runcorn Road, Balsall Heath, Birmingham, spoke only to confirm her name at the preliminary hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
Moran-Stokes wore a blue top and had her long hair down. Members of her family were in the public gallery. Leo Barnes, 32, from the same address, is also charged with the 80-year-old's murder as well as a second murder in London. He did not appear in court.
Mrs Beamond's body was found at her home in Juliet Road on Sunday. She had been been reported missing on Friday.
Judge John Warner adjourned the case for the pair to attend a plea and case management hearing on October 10.
