The outdoor market in Cannock has been a huge success since it was launched, council bosses say.

A survey was carried out which found 82 per cent of shoppers liked the market.

Cannock Chase Council's cabinet will meet next month to discuss the market's future.

As a result of the positive feedback relating to the market, it is likely they will decide to extend its run.

Council leader George Adamson said: "The majority of people want the market to stay. My personal view is that is appears to have been a success.

"Whenever I go into Cannock on a Friday, it seems to be busy. The report to cabinet gives us three options.

"To stop the market, continue it or for it to stay but become less frequent,"

The survey was carried out asking 300 shoppers for their views on the market.
