Oldbury thieves smashed into woman's car before driving it away

A woman was a victim of a car jacking in Oldbury during rush hour.

Thieves crashed a Vauxhall Astra into the woman's Audi last night, before driving off in her car.

The incident happened at around 5.30pm on Pound Road.

It was later located in the Penn Fields area of Wolverhampton, where police carried out searches including using the police helicopter.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Witnesses reported seeing numerous police cars in Lea Road and Jeffcock Road, in Penn Fields, while a police helicopter could be heard circling overhead at around 8pm.

It is believed officers gave chase on foot through gardens in Penn Fields in relation to vehicles being stolen.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact Sandwell Police on 101.
