Black Country road closed after wall collapse to reopen
A road which has been partially closed for 18 months after a wall collapsed will reopen next week.
Rubble and debris fell into the roadway in Red Hill, Stourbridge, on Christmas Eve 2012.
Dudley Council bosses were forced to shut the road completely for around three months as part of the clean up.
Bus services have been disrupted even as highways engineers were able to get the road reopened one way.
It will re-open to two way traffic from next Wednesday at 6am after the completion of repairs.
Concrete blocks were lowered to block off part of the road as engineers worked to make the wall safe.
Transport boss, Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, said: "Our engineers have worked hard over the last year to repair the extensive damage to this important structural wall.
"I'd like to thank residents for their patience and adherence to the one way traffic and speed limit imposed for their safety while the work was being carried out."
