Man arrested after car hits canal bridge in Walsall
A man was chased by police and arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a car ploughed into a canal bridge today.

The vehicle smashed into bridge in Green Lane, Walsall just after 3am.
It was abandoned and after a short chase on foot the suspect was arrested nearby. A passenger in the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
The car was badly smashed but the structure of the bridge was not thought to be damaged.
A 20-year-old man from Pelsall was arrested and remained in police custody this morning.
