Supermarket truck collides with car

A supermarket delivery van driver escaped with minor injuries after his truck ended up on its side after a crash with a car in Darlaston.

The crash happened this afternoon in Darlaston Road at its junction with Forge Street.

Paramedics were called to the scene and the road was closed from around 3pm.

A Tesco delivery van ended up on its side while a Mercedes suffered front end damage.

The driver of the van, who was cut free from the vehicle, suffered minor injuries and it is understood the car driver was not seriously injured.

The crash caused traffic to build up around the area,

The road remains closed, while a spillage was dealt with by highways workers.
